On the occasion of Women’s Day, Rotary Club of Poona West in collaboration with Family Counseling Centre of Bhaskar Dhondo Karve Research and Consultancy Cell of Karve Institute of Social service felicitated the women achievers and a federation of self help group from the community level with Stree Shakti Award. The awardees selected were the women from Socio economically deprived sections of the society. These were the women who have shown the courage to stand against all the odds imposed by the socio economic situations while fighting with the challenges. They were found to have have empowered themselves and have created the place for them in the society. The federation of the self help group has shown excellent record of empowering the women both economically as well as socially over a period of time since its inception.
